About This Project
ServMate is an on-demand home services marketplace that connects customers with trusted, verified local service professionals in real time. ServMate matches homeowners with the nearest available plumber, electrician, cleaner, carpenter, or AC technician — with live tracking, upfront pricing, and instant booking.
The Challenge
Finding reliable home service professionals in India is a frustrating experience. Customers deal with no-shows, opaque pricing, and zero accountability. Service providers struggle to find consistent work. The challenge was to build a two-sided marketplace that creates trust, transparency, and convenience for both sides.
Our Solution
Built a full-stack platform with a customer-facing app for booking services, a provider app for accepting jobs, and an admin dashboard for managing the marketplace. Real-time matching uses geolocation to find the nearest available provider. Socket.io powers live job status updates and provider tracking on a map.
How It Works
A step-by-step breakdown of how the system operates
Customer Books a Service
Customer selects a service category (plumbing, electrical, cleaning, etc.), describes the job, picks a time slot, and sees upfront pricing before confirming.
Smart Provider Matching
The system finds the nearest available verified provider using geolocation. The provider receives a job request and has 60 seconds to accept or decline.
Real-time Tracking
Once accepted, the customer tracks the provider's live location on a map. ETA updates in real time via Socket.io.
Job Execution & Verification
Provider arrives, completes the job, and marks it done in the app. Customer confirms completion and the payment is processed automatically.
Ratings & Payouts
Both parties rate each other. Provider earnings are calculated after platform commission and transferred to their wallet for weekly payout.
